• Omschrijving Introduction: Amma Knitwear brings together a community of talented, local knitters and customers who value unique, handmade garments made with natural materials. Each piece is knitted with care by our local knitting team, ensuring high-quality and one-of-a-kind creations that are made with love and attention to detail. Whether you are a knitter who is eager to share your craft, or a shopper looking for something special, Amma Knitwear is where creativity, craftsmanship and community come together to offer a truly unique experience. Welcome to Amma Knitwear! Description: Amma Knitwear is a non-profit organization which hosts unique events and activities which focuses on using knitting as a tool to bring people together. We have monthly Knit Nights, Workshops, Annual Events, and want to also develop a conference / festival. Next to this, we also have a smaller community of certified knitters who knit garments which are sold to the general public. For some, this can also include creating and developing knitting patterns which are then technically edited and refined to also be sold under the Amma Knitwear brand. Collaborations & partnerships: Amma Knitwear works closely with other businesses and brands, being that community and collaboration is a core pillar of the organization. One of the most prominent partnerships is with the Yarn Wagon, which is a yarn showroom where people can test premium yarns, become inspired and buy yarn for their next knitting project. This is the sole supplier of Amma Knitwear garment materials. Amma Knitwear ready-made garments are also available here for purchase and custom orders can be developed at the Yarn Wagon. Certified Amma Knitters also are granted (as a small compensation) store credit to the Yarn Wagon after each garment they knit so they can save up for premium yarn for their personal projects at a discounted price.

As an accredited company, we want to offer meaningful internships that help students grow both personally and professionally. Interns who join our team become part of a close-knit community. Past interns have contributed to a wide range of tasks, from graphic design and website development to social media, knitting, photography, and organizing community knitting events. We offer real-world experiences where students don’t just assist, they create, lead, and learn. Throughout the internship, students also gain valuable skills: How to confidently communicate with others, write professional emails, and engage a growing community.
