Organisatieprofiel

  • Omschrijving • We are a Registered Public Benefit Organisation, Cheetah breeding Project and Sanctuary with our main objective being to assist in the conservation of the dwindling cheetah metapopulation through our responsible and ethical breeding program which is based on genetic diversity through DNA profiling and accurate recordkeeping (Studbook) with regards to origin and parentage. • Our Cheetah Release Program aims at the release of captive-bred cheetahs back into the protected wild, at reputable Game Reserves within South Africa, thereby reintroducing new genetic lineages and strengthening the wild cheetah metapopulations. Since 2019, 8 of our captive bred cheetahs have been released within the boundaries of South Africa. • We provide sanctuary to other rescued animals protected by national legislation and/or considered as near threatened on the IUCN Red List. Rescued animals include, but are not limited to, non-breeding male lions, leopards, a Siberian tiger, caracals, servals, and African wild cats. • We aim to raise public awareness with regards to the vulnerability of South-African and other endangered species through Educational tours for the public, wildlife conservationists, school groups, students, youths, teachers, tour operators and tourists. • With close to 2 000 international Volunteers and Interns who have already participated in our programs, we aim to raise awareness across the world around the plight of the cheetah and other endangered species under our care.
