Ultimaker B.V. Sustainable Materials Research Intern
Due to the upcoming changes in PFAS regulations UltiMaker needs to adjust production processes for several (critical) parts. This assignment is to look for alternative materials and/or coatings for the affected parts. Next to finding a new solution it is necessary to establish adequate verification procedures and tests to avoid any performance issues. To do so, it is necessary to understand requirements and environmental conditions for each of the affected components across the complete machine. Next to the technical parts there is also an important communication aspect- to keep involved stakeholders (e.g. compliance and procurement) informed and aligned. Extra: To obtain samples and test performance according to the established verification method.

WO (most likely) / possibly HBO Mechanical / Materials Science -Strong research and analytical skills -Understanding of mechanical principles such as kinematics, dynamics -Good knowledge of materials science -Writes, executes and documents test plans -Prototyping and hands on approach is a plus
